LOL: FlyQuest earn another win in LCS Spring Split

Unbeaten FlyQuest beat one of their closest challengers in the League Championship Series Spring Split on Thursday, downing Evil Geniuses.

The result leaves FlyQuest (5-0) one game ahead of Cloud9 (4-1) and 100 Thieves (4-1), who both won their Thursday matches. Evil Geniuses (3-2) slipped into fourth place.

All 10 teams in the top North American League of Legends circuit will play every other team twice through March 17. The first- through fourth-place teams will then head to the upper-bracket semifinals of the double-elimination playoffs. The fifth- and sixth-place teams will enter the playoffs in the lower bracket.

The winner and runner-up in the playoff final will earn berths in the Mid-Season Invitational along with other teams from LoL leagues worldwide. The LCS Spring Split carries a $200,000 prize pool, with the champion earning $100,000.

On Thursday, FlyQuest topped Evil Geniuses, in 33 minutes on blue. South Korea’s Lee “Prince” Chae-hwan produced a 10-1-7 kill-death-assist ratio for FlyQuest, while Joseph Joon “jojopyun” Pyun finished at 6-5-3 for Evil Geniuses.

Cloud9 beat TSM in 35 minutes on blue behind the 12-1-8 K-D-A ratio of South Korea’s Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol. Taiwan’s Huang Yi-Tang wound up at 5-4-3 for TSM.

100 Thieves got past Team Liquid in 38 minutes on red. The United States’ Yiliang Peter “Doublelift” Peng notched a 14-0-6 K-D-A ratio for 100 Thieves, while South Korea’s Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon ended up at 4-1-2 for Team Liquid.

Golden Guardians defeated Counter Logic Gaming in 27 minutes on red thanks to a 9-1-7 K-D-A ratio for South Korea’s Kim “Gori” Tae-woo. Three players registered 1-4-0 K-D-A ratios for Counter Logic Gaming.

Immortals downed Dignitas in 40 minutes on blue. The United States’ Edward “Tactical” Ra amassed an 8-0-5 K-D-A ratio for Immortals. Denmark’s Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen logged a 3-2-2 K-D-A ratio for Dignitas.

Week 3 action concludes Friday with five matches:
