LOL: 100 Thieves open playoffs with sweep at LCS Summer Split

100 Thieves opened the League Championship Series Summer Split playoffs with a bang on Saturday, sweeping Dignitas 3-0 in the upper-bracket quarterfinals.

With the victory, 100 Thieves will face Team Liquid in the semifinals. Liquid locked down the No. 1 seed by going 7-0 in group-stage action.

100 Thieves played all of their matches on red, winning in 29 minutes, 27 minutes and 22 minutes. As a team, 100 Thieves averaged 16.3 kills, 3.0 deaths and 33.7 assists, while Dignitas averaged 3.0, 16.3 and 10.7, respectively.

Dignitas dropped into the first round of the lower bracket due to the setback.

Eight teams fought for six spots in the League of Legends Summer Split’s double-elimination playoff bracket.

All group-play matches were best-of-three, while the playoff matches are best-of-five. The winner of the tournament will take home $100,000 of the $200,000 prize pool, with the top three teams qualifying for the World Championship.

The playoffs continue Sunday with one match:
