DOTA: Spirit, Liquid stay alive at BetBoom Dacha Dubai

Team Spirit and Team Liquid won their lower-bracket matches on Monday to stay alive at the $1 million Betboom Dacha Dubai tournament in the United Arab Emirates.

Spirit eliminated LGD Gaming and Liquid knocked out Xtreme Gaming with 2-0 sweeps, advancing to the lower-bracket quarterfinals of the Dota 2 competition.

Spirit won both games in 31 minutes, first on green and then on red. Liquid had to work a bit harder, winning in 56 minutes on green and 37 minutes on red.

Action in the double-elimination playoffs continues Tuesday in the upper-bracket semifinals. BetBoom Team will face Gaimin Gladiators and Team Falcons will take on Azure Ray.

The playoff stage runs through Friday. All matches are best of three except for the best-of-five grand final.
