CSGO: G2, FaZe Clan advance in Shanghai Major playoffs

G2 Esports and FaZe Clan scored 2-1 wins Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Perfect World Shanghai Major in China.

G2 Esports knocked out HEROIC and FaZe Clan eliminated Team Vitality in the quarterfinals of the $1.25 million Counter-Strike 2 tournament.

After HEROIC opened with a 13-6 win on Ancient, G2 Esports rallied with a 13-9 win on Nuke and a 16-13 victory on Mirage.

FaZe Clan came from behind against Vitality, falling 13-6 on Nuke before winning 13-8 on Mirage and 13-7 on Anubis.

Saturday’s semifinals feature FaZe Clan vs. G2 Esports and Team Spirit vs. MOUZ. The winners will meet in Sunday’s best-of-three grand final, with the champion taking home $500,000.
