CSGO: G2 Esports wins BLAST Fall Final, punches ticket to World Final

G2 Esports secured the $200,000 top prize by defeating Natus Vincere 3-1 on Sunday in the grand final of the BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024 competition in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Sunday’s victory qualified G2 Esports for next month’s eight-team World Final, which has a $1,000,000 prize pool. The club also earned 3,200 BLAST Premier points for Sunday’s win.

G2 Esports sprung ahead 2-0 in the best-of-five final, then recovered after a loss on Mirage to post the clinching victory on Inferno.

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov of Russia carried the champions on Sunday, leading all players with 77 kills and a plus-29 kills-to-deaths differential. Guatemala’s Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa logged 67 kills and a plus-13 K-D to help propel G2.

Justinas “jL” Lekavicius of Lithuania paced Natus Vincere with 68 kills and was the team’s only player to finish with a positive differential (plus-6).

Natus Vincere earned $85,000 and 2,200 BLAST points for their second-place finish.

G2 Esports opened Sunday with a 13-9 win on Ancient and followed with a 13-11 triumph on Dust II.

Natus Vincere staved off defeat with a 13-11 win on Mirage before G2 Esports scored six of the final seven points on Inferno to win 13-7.

Samayoa recorded 22 kills and finished plus-11 in the clincher.

Eight teams began this week’s $425,000 Counter-Strike 2 tournament, with G2 Esports securing a bid to the World Final taking place from Oct. 30-Nov. 8 in Sentosa, Singapore.

All matches leading up to the grand final were best-of-three.
