CSGO: G2 Esports, 3DMAX continue winning ways at PGL Bucharest

G2 Esports and 3DMAX each recorded 2-1 wins in their respective Round 3 High Matches on Tuesday in the group stage of the $625,000 PGL Bucharest 2025 event in Romania.

G2 dismissed Complexity, sandwiching a 16-12 win on Dust II and 13-10 victory on Ancient around a 13-10 setback on Anubis.

As for 3DMAX, they toppled Aurora Gaming after sandwiching a 13-9 win on Inferno and a 16-14 over victory on Dust II around a 13-5 loss on Anubis. G2 and 3DMAX (3-0) are the first two teams to clinch their places in the playoff stage.

The group stage is operating under the Swiss system format. The eight winning teams from Round 1 advanced to Round 2 high matches, and the eight losing sides moved to Round 2 low matches. Teams advance to the playoff stage once they win three matches.

All matches in the group stage are best-of-three, with eight teams advancing to the single-elimination playoffs. The grand final will be best-of-five, with the winner pocketing $200,000.

In Round 3 Mid Matches, Apogee Esports posted a 2-0 win over Astralis, Virtus.pro did the same against FURIA and FaZe Clan secured a 2-0 victory over Rare Atom.

GamerLegion, however, needed three maps to secure a 2-1 win over Legacy. They prevailed 13-11 on Anubis, fell 16-13 in overtime on Inferno and rallied to beat Legacy 13-7 on Ancient.

In Round 3 Low Matches, The Mongolz swept Team Liquid while Team Falcons posted a 2-1 win over paiN Gaming. Liquid and paiN were the first two teams eliminated from the competition.

The group stage continues Wednesday with eight matches:
