Cloud9 parted ways with Russian Timofey “interz” Yakushin on Monday, allowing him to test free agency after nearly a year with the team.

interz, 22, had been moved to the inactive roster two months ago to make room for Timur “buster” Tulepov of Kazakhstan, preventing him from exploring the open market.

After the team tweeted the news, interz posted on his Twitter account, “Thanks a lot to the @Cloud9 organization for everything. Unfortunately they no longer need me.”

The move marks the end of an era for Cloud9, which see its all-Russian core of Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov, Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov, Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov and Yakushin split up. The quartet had been playing together since 2019, when they were members of Gambit Youngsters.

interz helped Gambit finish in first place at the Intel Extreme Masters Season XV-World Championship 2021 and the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2021. The squad also sat at No. 1 in the world ranking before being overtaken by Natus Vincere in July 2021.

interz, along with his trio of teammates, also competed members of Players before they were acquired by Cloud9 in April 2022. Two months later, Cloud9 won the IEM Season XVII-Dallas championship.
