Astralis survived and advanced to the third round of the lower bracket Friday at the BLAST Premier Fall Finals.

After losing Thursday during the upper-bracket semifinals, Astralis drew FaZe Clan in Round 2 of the lower bracket and posted a 2-1 victory.

Earlier in the day, FaZe Clan swept BIG and Team Liquid rallied to beat Ninjas in Pyjamas 2-1 to kick off the lower bracket. Liquid will battle Heroic on Saturday, with the winner moving on to face Astralis in the third round.

Astralis beat FaZe 16-10 on Mirage, but FaZe countered with a 16-5 rout on Nuke. Astralis took the deciding map, 16-9 on Dust II.

Benjamin ‘blameF’ Bremer led the all-Danish Astralis side with 58 kills and a plus-14 kills-to-deaths differential. Kristian ‘k0nfig’ Wienecke added 55 kills and a plus-7 differential. For FaZe, Havard ‘rain’ Nygaard of Norway led with 54 kills and a plus-4.

FaZe advanced to meet Astralis by beating BIG 16-11 on Dust II and 16-9 on Inferno. In that match, rain posted 48 kills and a plus-18 for FaZe. Johannes ‘tabseN’ Wodarz of Germany (40 kills) was the only player for BIG with a positive K-D differential (plus-1).

Liquid dropped the opening map to NIP, 16-13 on Inferno, before blowing by them with a 16-4 triumph on Mirage and a 16-11 win on Overpass.

Canada’s Keith ‘NAF’ Markovic carried Liquid with 70 kills, and his plus-27 was the only positive differential for the winning side. Nicolai ‘device’ Reedtz of Denmark guided NIP with 61 kills and a plus-9.

All matches in the double-elimination, $425,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament are best-of-three, including the grand final on Sunday. The winning team will earn $225,000 and a berth in the BLAST Premier World Final, scheduled for Dec. 14-19. The runner-up will receive $85,000.
