U.S. men’s national team star forward Christian Pulisic left the team’s friendly against Australia with a possible injury in the 31st minute on Tuesday in Commerce City, Colo.

Australian defender Jason Geria clipped him on the heel from behind as Pulisic dribbled past midfield. Geria was issued a yellow card.

Pulisic was down for several minutes before getting up and walking off under his own power with a slight limp. He then headed to the locker room with members of the training staff.

Following the United States’ 2-1 win, U.S. coach Mauricio Pochettino said of Pulisic, “I think he feels something in his hamstring. Tomorrow he will fly to Italy. We will assess and we’ll see. We cannot say anything at the moment.”

The 27-year-old AC Milan forward started in his 82nd U.S. match after being limited to the final 17-plus minutes in a 1-1 tie with Ecuador on Friday because of an ankle injury.

Diego Luna entered the match in Pulisic’s place.

AC Milan is scheduled to resume Series A play on Sunday at home against Fiorentina.
