CALLOFDUTY: FaZe win twice, extend stay at CDL Stage 3 Major

The Atlanta FaZe rolled to two sweeps on Friday to advance in the lower bracket of the Call of Duty League Stage 3 Major in Boca Raton, Fla.

The FaZe downed Cloud9 New York 3-0, then eliminated OpTic Texas 3-0. Earlier in the day, OpTic routed the Vegas Falcons 3-0.

In other first-round lower-bracket action, the Minnesota Rokkr topped the Carolina Royal Ravens 3-1 and the Toronto Ultra trounced Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 3-0.

The $365,000 double-elimination major continues through Sunday, with the championship team set to earn $150,000 and 100 Call of Duty League points.

On Friday, Atlanta got past New York 250-164 on Hacienda Hardpoint, 6-5 on Red Card Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Protocol Control. The FaZe subsequently toppled Texas 250-161 on Hacienda Hardpoint, 6-5 on Red Card Search and Destroy and 3-2 on Protocol Control.

OpTic defeated Vegas 250-172 on Vault Hardpoint, 6-2 on Rewind Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Protocol Control.

Minnesota claimed Protocol Hardpoint 250-201 and 6-1 on Dealership Search and Destroy before Carolina captured Protocol Control 3-1. The Rokkr sealed the series with a 250-162 victory on Red Card Hardpoint.

The Ultra crushed the Guerrillas 250-61 on Vault Hardpoint, 6-4 on Protocol Search and Destroy and 3-1 on Vault Control.

Five matches are scheduled for Saturday:
–Upper-bracket semifinal — Los Angeles Thieves vs. Miami Heretics
–Upper-bracket semifinal — Boston Breach vs. Vancouver Surge
–Lower-bracket second round — Minnesota Rokkr vs. Toronto Ultra
–Lower-bracket quarterfinal — Rokkr/Ultra winner vs. Thieves/Heretics loser
–Lower-bracket quarterfinal — Atlanta FaZe vs. Breach/Surge winner
