Australian Nick Kyrgios withdrew from the U.S. Open for the third straight year on Thursday.

Wrist, ankle and knee injuries have kept the former Wimbledon finalist largely out of action since 2023.

Kyrgios, 30, is just 1-4 in singles matches this season and has dropped to No. 644 in the ATP rankings.

A seven-time winner on the ATP Tour, Kyrgios peaked at No. 13 in October 2016. He has earned more than $12.6 million in prize money.

He lost to Novak Djokovic in the 2022 Wimbledon final before reaching the quarterfinals at the U.S. Open that year, his highest finish there.
