MLB: White Sox recall LHP Tanner Banks from Triple-A

The Chicago White Sox placed right-hander Joe Kelly on the family medical leave list and recalled left-hander Tanner Banks from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

Kelly must remain on the list for a minimum of three and a maximum of seven days.

The 34-year-old reliever is 1-3 with a 6.42 ERA and 14 holds in 39 games (one start) this season.

Banks, 30, is 1-0 with a 3.26 ERA in 32 relief appearances this season for the White Sox.

Chicago enters Sunday’s series finale at Detroit trailing Cleveland by 4 1/2 games in the American League Central.
