Zac Gallen started the game with three shutout innings to extend his scoreless streak to an Arizona franchise record, and the Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies 12-6 in Denver on Sunday.

Jake McCarthy had four hits and three RBIs and Josh Rojas, Christian Walker and Emmanuel Rivera had two hits apiece for Arizona.

Ryan McMahon homered among his two hits and Yonathan Daza also had two hits for Colorado.

Gallen (12-2) finished with 11 strikeouts in six innings while breaking Brandon Webb’s record of 42 straight scoreless innings set July 20-Aug. 17, 2007 for the Diamondbacks. Gallen retired the first nine batters he faced to push his streak to 44 1/3 innings before giving up a run to open the bottom of the fourth.

Arizona took the lead in the third against Ryan Feltner (2-8). Carson Kelly and Sergio Alcantara led off with singles and Kelly scored on a groundout by Rojas. Daulton Varsho and Walker walked to load the bases and Stone Garrett hit a two-run single, with Walker taking third on the play.

Walker then stole home, just beating a relay throw from third, to make it 4-0.

Feltner left after walking the bases loaded again. He allowed four runs on four hits and walked four in 2 2/3 innings.

The Rockies got three back in the fourth and ended Gallen’s streak. C.J. Cron followed leadoff singles by McMahon and Daza to drive in the first run, and two outs later Elehuris Montero doubled to drive in two more to make it 4-3.

Arizona made it 5-3 on McCarthy’s RBI single in the sixth and padded the lead in the seventh.

With the bases loaded, pinch hitter Ketel Marte hit a two-run double, followed with a two-run single by Rojas. McCarthy capped the five-run inning with an RBI single.

McMahon’s 16th home run, a two-run shot, and Michael Toglia’s RBI groundout got Colorado within four after eight.

McCarthy had an RBI triple in the ninth and scored on Walker’s single.
