The Baltimore Orioles are promoting infielder Gunnar Henderson, the No. 2 overall prospect in all of baseball, and highly rated pitching prospect DL Hall when rosters expand Thursday.

The pair will fly to Cleveland to be part of the taxi squad for Wednesday night’s game against the Guardians before being added to the roster Thursday. Both players would be eligible for inclusion on the postseason roster should the Orioles make it.

In corresponding moves, the Orioles optioned infielder Tyler Nevin to Triple-A Norfolk and designated right-hander Denyi Reyes for assignment.

Henderson, 21, is batting .288 with 11 home runs and 41 RBIs and an .894 OPS at Norfolk after 47 games at Double-A Bowie. He was Baltimore’s second-round pick in the 2019 draft.

Hall, 23, Baltimore’s No. 6 prospect, made his MLB debut earlier this month, taking the loss in a start against Tampa Bay on Aug. 13. He allowed five runs on five hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings.

Hall is 3-8 with a 4.48 ERA in 24 games (20 starts) this season at three different levels in the minors.

Nevin, 24, is batting .196 with two home runs and 16 RBIs in 56 innings for the Orioles.

Reyes, 25, posted a 2.35 ERA without a decision in three games (one start) this season.

Rosters expand from 26 to 28 players on Thursday.
