The New York Red Bulls acquired Brazilian striker Elias Manoel on loan from Gremio.

The deal announced Saturday runs through the end of the year and includes an option to buy.

Manoel, 20, has been with the Brazilian Serie B club since March 2021 and has scored nine goals in 40 matches.

“We are excited to add Elias to our roster for the rest of the season,” NYRB head of sport Jochen Schneider said in a news release. “From what we have seen from Elias, we believe he has the abilities to succeed at the MLS level.”

Manoel will join the Red Bulls upon receipt of his international paperwork.
