The Brooklyn Nets acquired forward Royce O’Neale from the Utah Jazz in exchange for a first-round draft pick Thursday.

The Jazz will receive a 2023 first-round pick, whichever is the lower of the two opening-round picks the Nets have next year. The Nets own the Philadelphia 76ers’ first-round pick, and the Houston Rockets have the right to swap first-rounders with Brooklyn via the James Harden trade.

The news comes on the same day it was reported that Nets star forward Kevin Durant has requested a trade, with the Phoenix Suns or Miami Heat Durant’s preferred destinations, according to ESPN.

O’Neale, 29, has started in all 148 games he has appeared in over the past two seasons for the Jazz. He averaged 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 31.2 minutes last season and has averaged 6.2 points with 4.8 rebounds over 370 career games (230 starts) in five seasons, all in Utah.
