Three-time John Deere Classic champion Steve Stricker has withdrawn from this week’s tournament.

PGA Tour officials announced the news Tuesday but did not provide a reason for his absence.

The tournament begins Thursday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. Lucas Glover was the winner in 2021.

Stricker won the tournament in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and had played in 11 of the last 12 editions. He is the John Deere Classic’s all-time leading money winner with nearly $3.3 million in 18 starts.

Stricker, 55, finished second to Padraig Harrington at last week’s U.S. Senior Open Championship in Pennsylvania.

He was replaced in the John Deere Classic field by Morgan Hoffman.
