The Cleveland Guardians placed outfielder Franmil Reyes on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to right hamstring tightness.

The move is retroactive to Wednesday.

Reyes, 26, didn’t play in Wednesday’s game against the Houston Astros. He is batting just .195 with three homers, 12 RBIs and 57 strikeouts in 35 games this season.

Reyes belted 30 homers and a career-high 85 RBIs last season in 115 games.

Cleveland also promoted outfielders Oscar Gonzalez and Richie Palacios and left-hander Konnor Pilkington from Triple-A Columbus and designated infielder Yu Chang for assignment.

Gonzalez, 24, is batting .282 with nine homers and 33 RBIs in 41 games for Columbus, while the 25-year-old Palacios is batting .259 in 20 games at Columbus as well as hitting .270 in 12 games with Cleveland this season.

Pilkington, 24, will start Thursday night’s game against the Detroit Tigers. He is replacing right-hander Aaron Civale (glute), who was placed on the injured list on Wednesday.

Pilkington has a 5.02 ERA in four starts at Columbus. He has made four appearances (one start) for the Guardians this season and has a 2.08 ERA.

Chang, 26, was hitless in 10 at-bats for Cleveland this season and batted .174 in 23 minor league at-bats between Columbus and Double-A Akron.
