Top-seeded Cameron Norrie of Great Britain outlasted Slovakia’s Alex Molcan 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-1 to claim his second ATP Tour title of the season Saturday at the Lyon Open in France.

Norrie, who won Florida’s Delray Beach Open in February, failed to convert two match points on the unseeded Molcan’s serve in the second set. He broke Molcan’s serve three times in the deciding set to finish the match in two hours and 31 minutes.

This is the first career title on clay for the 24-year-old Norrie, who lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece in the finals of this tournament last year.

Molcan had been seeking his first title.

No. 2 seed Casper Ruud of Norway survived a 7-6 (3), 4-6, 7-6 (1) battle with Portugal’s Joao Sousa to repeat as the champion in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ruud dropped his first set of the week in a tightly contested match that lasted three hours and one minute. He is now 6-1 in his last six ATP 250 clay-court finals. He is the first back-to-back winner in Geneva since Stan Wawrinka in 2016-17.

Ruud struck 11 aces and saved seven of 10 break points against the unseeded Sousa, who fought off two match points to force the third-set tiebreak.
