OpTic Texas and the Boston Breach both earned victories Saturday to remain the only unbeaten squads at 3-0 in Call of Duty League Major 2 qualifying.
OpTic had an easier time, delivering a 3-0 sweep over the Florida Mutineers, while the Breach rallied from a map down to defeat the Toronto Ultra 3-2.
In Saturday’s other matches, both the New York Subliners and Atlanta FaZe earned their first wins at qualifying. The Subliners downed the winless Paris Legion 3-1, while the FaZe beat the London Royal Ravens by the same 3-1 score.
The most convincing win of the day belonged to OpTic, who dispatched the Mutineers in consecutive maps. The victors first took Bocage Hardpoint 250-193, then won Berlin Search and Destroy 6-3 and Tuscan Control 3-2 for the match.
Boston escaped its opening map with a 250-247 decision on Bocage Hardpoint, but Toronto won consecutive maps on Desert Siege Search and Destroy (6-2) and Gavutu Control (3-2) to take a 2-1 lead. But the Breach battled back with wins on Gavutu Hardpoint (250-99) and Berlin Search and Destroy (6-2) in dominant fashion.
The Subliners began with a 250-180 triumph on Bocage Hardpoint and 6-1 victory on Desert Siege Search and Destroy for a 2-0 lead. The winless Legion took Tuscan Control 3-1, but were blown out by New York 250-79 on Berlin Hardpoint in falling to 0-4.
FaZe notched their first win, starting with a 250-179 win on Gavutu Hardpoint and 6-2 win on Bocage Search and Destroy. After the Royal Ravens hung around by winning 3-1 on Gavutu Control, Atlanta closed the match in 250-236 victory on Tuscan Hardpoint.
