WTA: Iga Swiatek captures Doha title in 64 minutes

Seventh-seeded Iga Swiatek of Poland breezed to a 6-2, 6-0 victory against No. 4 seed Anett Kontaveit of Estonia to win the Qatar TotalEnergies Open title Saturday in Doha.

Swiatek won the last 10 games, finishing the match in just 64 minutes. She struck five aces and saved six of seven break points. Kontaveit only won 42 percent (14 of 33) of her first-service points.

It is the fourth career WTA title for the 2020 French Open champion and her first since the Italian Open in May 2021. The 20-year-old Swiatek improved to 3-2 head-to-head against Kontaveit.
