MLS: FC Cincinnati’s Haris Medunjanin signs 1-year contract

FC Cincinnati midfielder Haris Medunjanin signed a contract through the 2022 season on Wednesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team, which holds a club option on Medunjanin for the 2023 campaign.

Medunjanin, 36, collected a career-high three goals to go along with two assists in 29 appearances (18 starts) last season with FC Cincinnati. He has four goals and three assists in 50 career appearances with the club over the last two seasons.

“We’re excited to welcome Haris back to FC Cincinnati,” the club’s general manager Chris Albright said. “He’s one of the most talented and professional players that I’ve ever been around and his leadership on and off the field are an important piece to our team.”

Medunjanin has nine goals and 32 assists in 148 career appearances (134 starts) with the Philadelphia Union (2017-19) and FC Cincinnati.
