Texas A&M running back Isaiah Spiller said Tuesday that he will skip his senior season in favor of the 2022 NFL Draft.

In a lengthy statement posted to Twitter, Spiller thanked his family for their support as well as his coaches, teammates and the fans for his time in College Station.

“THANK YOU to the 12th Man,” he wrote, in part. “You are the best fans in the nation and the atmosphere and energy you bring to every game is second to none. You’ve embraced me and my family therefore, we are forever grateful. It has been an honor to take the field and represent you.”

Spiller joined Texas A&M as a four-star running back prospect in the Class of 2019. In his three-year career, he ran for 2,993 yards and 25 touchdowns, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. He added one receiving touchdown.

He earned Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team honors in 2019 and was a first-team All-SEC selection in 2020 and second-team pick in 2021.

This season, he ran 1,011 yards and six touchdowns on 179 carries in 12 games, creating a potent one-two punch with sophomore Devon Achane, who gained 910 yards on the ground and scored nine times.

ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. lists Spiller as the No. 3 draft-eligible running back in the nation.

No. 25 Texas A&M (8-4) will face No. 17 Wake Forest (10-3) in the Gator Bowl on Dec. 31.
