Johnny Davis capped a 23-point performance with the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:18 remaining as No. 22 Wisconsin rallied from a 17-point halftime deficit for a 64-59 victory over Indiana on Wednesday.

The victory extended the Badgers’ home winning streak to 19 over the Hoosiers.

Wisconsin (8-1, 1-0 Big Ten) trailed by 22 at one point and 42-25 at the half. Johnny Davis hit a 3-pointer from the right corner to put the Badgers in front 60-59 with 78 seconds to go. Wisconsin’s Tyler Wahl blocked Parker Stewart’s driving attempt and freshman point guard Chucky Hepburn hit two free throws to make it 62-59 with 23 seconds left.

Race Thompson had 12 points and Xavier Johnson 10 for Indiana (7-2, 1-1). The Hoosiers have not won at the Kohl Center since a 69-59 victory under Bobby Knight in 1998 in the first matchup in that building.

Chris Vogt added nine points and Brad Davison eight for Wisconsin, which has won 23 of the last 26 against Indiana. Wahl added a game-high 12 rebounds.

Wisconsin, which trailed 42-25 at the half, quickly rallied after the break.

Jordan Davis nailed a 3-pointer from the top and Ben Carlson hit the first of two free throws to make it 49-41 with 12:37 left.

Davidson’s 3-pointer cut the lead to 51-44, but the Hoosiers pushed the lead back 56-44. Wahl hit both ends of the bonus to pull Wisconsin within 59-57 with 2:19 remaining.

The Hoosiers shot 54.8 percent in the first half (17-31), including 5 of 8 from 3-point range, en route to a 42-25 halftime lead. Indiana also held a 23-14 advantage on the boards in the first half with 11 second-chance points.

Indiana went in front 19-9 when Trayce Jackson-Davis gathered in a lob for an uncontested dunk as the Hoosiers had six assists on their first eight field goals.
The Hoosiers pushed the lead to 26-9 as Wisconsin went scoreless for more than five minutes before Wahl’s short second-chance jumper. Thompson’s putback extended the lead to 42-20.

Wisconsin, which shot 70 percent in the second half in an 89-76 win at home over Marquette on Saturday, made just 10 of 32 shots in the opening half, including 1-of-10 from beyond the arc.
