The Miami Marlins acquired infielder Joey Wendle from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for prospect Kameron Misner on Tuesday.

Wendle, 31, is coming off a career season that included his first All-Star Game nod. He totaled 11 home runs, 31 doubles, 54 RBIs and 73 runs with a .265 batting average in 136 games for Tampa Bay.

On defense, he spent most of his time at third base but also played shortstop and second base.

Wendle spent the past four seasons with the Rays after beginning his major league career with the Oakland Athletics in 2016 and 2017. In 436 career games, Wendle has a .274 batting average, 27 home runs, 88 doubles, 167 RBIs and 205 runs.

Misner, 23, has played outfield and first base across four seasons in Miami’s minor league system. This year, he hit a combined .253 with 12 homers and 59 RBIs in over 102 games in high Class-A and Double-A.
