Fnatic and BIG each earned semifinal victories Saturday and earned the right to face each other in Sunday’s Grand Final of the DreamHack Open November 2021.

After finishing atop the four-team Group B, Fnatic continued its domination with a 2-0 semifinal victory over MAD Lions. Fnatic opened with a 16-14 victory on Ancient, before registering a 16-12 triumph on Inferno.

William “mezii” Merriman of the United Kingdom had 43 kills and a plus-six kill/death differential as Fnatic earned their third consecutive 2-0 victory in the eight-team event.

BIG, the first-place team from Group A, needed to rally for a 2-1 semifinal victory over forZe. BIG trailed after an early 19-16 setback on Inferno, but took a 16-10 victory on Dust II and then advanced with a 16-8 victory on Nuke.

Florian “syrsoN” Rische of Germany had 67 kills and a plus-16 differential for BIG.

While the semifinals were a best-of-three set, the Grand Final on Sunday will be a best-of-five series.

MAD Lions and forZe each earned $10,000 and 40 Pro Tour points for advancing to the semifinals. Sunday’s Grand Final winner will earn $50,000 and 100 Pro Tour points, while the runner-up will earn $20,000 and 80 points.

Also at stake in Sunday’s Grand Final is a seeding at ESL Pro League Conference Season 15 that takes place Nov. 23-28.
