International star Priyanka Chopra Jonas was not India for Diwali, but this did not stop her from celebrating the Festival of Lights at her home in California. With husband Nick, she celebrated a star-studded Diwali throwing a party for her near and dear ones.
The couple shared their moments of celebration on Instagram. They posted pictures with Joe Jonas and some celebrity guests such as John Legend, the EGOT winner, Chrissy Teigen, his wife, and Kal Penn, the former White House staffer.
“With the blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi, we invite her grace and abundance into our home,” the actress captioned her Instagram post. “Happy Diwali.”
“My beautiful wife has introduced me to so many wonderful Indian holidays and traditions,” captioned Jonas. “My heart is so full to be able to share this with our friends and family.”
An excited Nick was the first to release a video from their Diwali party in which the ‘Burnin’ Up’ singer is seen dressed in a traditional Indian kurta and shalwar.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas looked terrific in an embroidered Shane and Falguni Peacock ivory lehenga. “Our first diwali in our first home together. This one will always be special,” the actress wrote. “Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this evening so special. You’re my angels.”
She also said: “To everyone who honoured our home and my culture by not only dressing the part but dancing the night away, you made me feel like I was back home. And to the best husband and partner @nickjonas, you are what dreams are made of. I love you. My heart is so grateful and full. Happy Diwali.”
American model Chrissy Teigen also posted on Instagram a video of hers from the night of the party. She wrote: “Happy Diwali to all who celebrate!!Thank you for having us @priyankachopra and @nickjonas!! We love you both!”
The actress and singer were not the only stars who celebrated Diwali this year.
American actress and comedian, Mindy Kaling also hosted a Diwali dinner joining hands with Phenomenal media company and Live Tinted beauty brand. Phenomenal is a 360-degree media company focuses on women and underrepresented communities.
The celebration was organized to highlight South Asian women’s the voices in the entertainment and media and fields, a press release said. There were several prominent South Asian women present at the party: such as Priyanka Chopra, Meena Harris, Lilly Singh, Liza Koshy and Poorna Jagannathan.
