MLB: Report: OF Avisail Garcia opting out of Brewers contract

Outfielder Avisail Garcia is opting out of his contract with the Milwaukee Brewers and entering free agency, MLB Network reported Thursday.

Garcia, 30, batted .262 with a career-high 29 home runs and 86 RBIs in 135 games in 2021.

He signed a two-year, $20 million contract in December 2019 that included a mutual $12 million option for 2022.

An All-Star with the Chicago White Sox in 2017, Garcia is a career .270 hitter with 127 home runs and 475 RBIs in 951 games with the Detroit Tigers (2012-13), White Sox (2013-18), Tampa Bay Rays (2019) and Brewers.
