The Carolina Hurricanes acquired rugged forward Nicolas Deslauriers from the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2027.
Deslauriers, 35, has one assist and 33 penalty minutes in 24 games this season with the Flyers.
“This adds depth and experience to our forward group,” Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky said. “Nicolas is a strong, physical player who plays with an edge, factors that become even more important as we get to the postseason.”
Deslauriers has recorded 105 points (53 goals, 52 assists) and 794 penalty minutes in 701 games with the Buffalo Sabres (2013-17), Montreal Canadiens (2017-19), Anaheim Ducks (2019-22), Minnesota Wild (2022) and Flyers (2022-26). He was a third-round pick by the Los Angeles Kings in 2009.
