No. 1 seed Emma Raducanu completed a two-day match, earning a 6-3, 7-6 (2) victory against Colombian Camila Osorio on Wednesday at the Hobart International in Australia.

Osorio was leading 4-2 in the second set Tuesday when rain ended play, pushing the completion to Wednesday. After Britain’s Raducanu rallied to get the win, the 2021 U.S. Open champ earned passage to the quarterfinals as Poland’s Magdalena Frech withdrew due to a left thigh injury.

No. 3 seed Iva Jovic defeated Mexico’s Renata Zarazua 6-1, 6-2, and in other second round action, Italy’s Elisabetta Cocciaretto knocked out No. 4 Ann Li 1-6, 7-5, 7-5; and Hungary’s Anna Bondar ousted No. 6 Tatjana Maria of Germany 7-6 (7), 7-5. Also reaching the quarterfinals were Croatia’s Antonia Ruzic, Serbia’s Olga Danilovic and Australia’s Taylah Preston, who will face Raducanu.

Adelaide International

No. 2 seed Madison Keys and No. 8 Victoria Mboko of Canada will meet in the quarterfinals in Australia after Keys completed a 6-4, 6-1 win against Tereza Valentova of the Czech Republic.

Keys, the defending champion, overcame a shaky start against the 18-year-old Valentova. She double faulted seven times and saved five break points in the opening set before finding her groove to win in one hour and 24 minutes.

No. 6 Emma Navarro needed the same amount of time to complete a 6-4, 6-1 win over Kazakhstan’s Yulia Putintseva. No. 9 Diana Shnaider outlasted Czech Katerina Siniakova 6-1, 2-6, 7-5 and Romania’s Jacqueline Cristian rolled to a 6-4, 6-0 win against Australia’s Daria Kasatkina. Maya Joint advanced when fellow Aussie Ajla Tomljanovic retired.
