Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter will sit out the game on Monday against the host Los Angeles Chargers after undergoing a procedure earlier this week to repair his shoulders, ESPN reported on Thursday.

Per the report, Carter is considered week-to-week and wanted to get the procedure completed to enable him to be as close to 100 percent as possible for the playoff run for the Eagles (8-4).

Carter, 24, recorded four tackles and one sack while playing 70.1% of the defensive snaps in Philadelphia’s 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears last Friday.

He has 32 tackles and two sacks in 10 games (all starts) this season for the Eagles. He was ejected before the first play from scrimmage in Philadelphia’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

A Pro Bowl selection in 2024, Carter has totaled 107 tackles and 12.5 sacks in 42 career games (26 starts) with the Eagles. He was selected by the team with the ninth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Georgia.
