FlyQuest and M80 swept their Round 3 High matches on Tuesday to become the first two teams to advance to the second stage of the StarLadder Budapest Major.

FlyQuest steamrolled Fluxo, 13-1 on Overpass and 13-3 on Inferno. Australia’s Declan “Vexite” Portelli had 30 kills and Romania’s Iulian “regali” Harjau added 28 kills on a plus-18 kills-to-deaths differential to lead FlyQuest.

M80 bested NRG 13-7 on Dust II and 13-2 on Mirage. All five players for M80 finished with at least 27 kills, topped by American Michael “Swisher” Schmid’s 32.

Thirty-two teams are competing at the Budapest Major, which begins with three straight Swiss System stages. Sixteen teams compete in each stage; eight invited teams will start in Stage 2 and eight more get a bye into Stage 3. The top eight teams in each stage move on.

In each Swiss System stage, elimination and advancement matches are best-of-three and all others are best-of-one.

The tournament concludes with a single-elimination playoff stage Dec. 11-14. All matches are best-of-three until the grand final, which is best-of-five. The winner will take home $500,000.

Tuesday’s action also saw the first two teams eliminated from the event, after losing their Round 3 Low matches and finishing with an 0-3 record. Rare Atom bowed out as GamerLegion prevailed 13-7 on Inferno and 13-5 on Overpass, while Lynn Vision Gaming took their final loss vs. The Huns Esports, 13-7 on Ancient and 13-8 on Dust II.

The four Round 3 Mid matches consisted of a single map, and the winners advanced to the High matches in the next round.

Legacy topped RED Canids 13-6 on Nuke; B8 edged PARIVISION 13-11 on Inferno; Fnatic ran away with a win over Imperial Esports, 13-3 on Train; and Ninjas in Pyjamas downed FaZe Clan 13-8 on Overpass.
