The Philadelphia Union signed midfielder Indiana Vassilev to a new deal on Tuesday that runs through 2028 and includes an option for 2029.

Vassilev, 24, recorded five goals and four assists in 31 regular-season matches (21 starts) and helped the Union win the 2025 Supporters’ Shield in his first season with the team. He added one goal in three playoff games.

“Indiana was able to join the team and make an immediate and important impact this year,” said head coach Bradley Carnell. “His work rate, aggressiveness and versatility have made him a key contributor in the midfield and an essential piece to the team’s success this season.

“Beyond his performance on the pitch, Indiana’s team-first mindset off the field greatly strengthened the culture in the locker room. We’re confident in his continued growth and the contributions he can continue to make in the coming years.”

Vassilev has tallied 15 goals and 10 assists in 139 career MLS matches (89 starts) with Inter Miami (2021-22), St. Louis City (2023-24) and Philadelphia.
