No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic of Serbia and No. 2 seed Lorenzo Musetti of Italy advanced to the semifinals of the Hellenic Championship on Thursday in Athens.

Djokovic hit nine aces and saved both break points he faced in a 7-6 (1), 6-4 victory over Portuguese sixth seed Nuno Borges. Musetti, who must win the title in Athens to leapfrog Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime for the eighth and final berth in the Nitto ATP Finals, swept past French fifth seed Alexandre Muller 6-2, 6-4.

Djokovic will face Yannick Hanfmann in the semis after the German qualifier beat Marcos Giron 7-6 (3), 6-4. Musetti’s opponent will be Sebastian Korda, who fired 13 aces without a double fault during a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic that required just 58 minutes.
