The Toronto Blue Jays made a bullpen adjustment for their final series of the regular season, recalling left-hander Justin Bruihl and optioning right-hander Paxton Schultz to the spring training complex on Friday.

The Blue Jays (91-68) entered the three-game set at home against the Tampa Bay Rays tied for first place in the American League East with the New York Yankees.

Bruihl, 28, had a 5.68 ERA in 14 relief appearances for Toronto earlier this season. In five major league seasons for the Los Angeles Dodgers (2021-23), Colorado Rockies (2023), Pittsburgh Pirates (2024) and Blue Jays, he is 2-2 with a 4.77 ERA and one save in 93 appearances (two starts).

Schultz, 27, has a 4.38 ERA in 13 appearances (two starts) since making his major league debut with the Blue Jays on April 20.
