The Jacksonville Jaguars activated second-year defensive tackle Maason Smith from the physically unable to perform list on Thursday.

A second-round draft pick (48th overall) in 2024, Smith recorded 3.0 sacks, 17 tackles and three passes defensed in 11 games (five starts) during his rookie campaign.

Smith, 22, was placed on the PUP list at the start of training camp with an undisclosed injury. He is listed as a backup on the depth chart behind starter Arik Armstead.

The Jaguars visit the New Orleans Saints for a preseason game on Sunday afternoon. They open the regular season at home against the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 7.
