Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Edmundo Sosa exited Saturday’s game against the host New York Yankees in the seventh inning following a scary collision with left fielder Brandon Marsh.

With two outs and the Phillies holding a 9-3 lead, Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a pop up to shallow left field. As Sosa backpedaled and called for the ball, Marsh charged in and appeared to hit the infielder in the back. Sosa sustained a back contusion, per the team.

Sosa was checked out by a trainer for a few minutes before exiting under his own power. When his spot came up in the eighth, Sosa was replaced by Otto Kemp.

Sosa, who was making his 15th start at third base, hit a two-run homer in Philadelphia’s four-run seventh inning. Sosa is hitting .270 with four homers and 25 RBIs in 56 games this season.
