Playing with a man advantage in the closing minutes, Maya Yoshida scored on a header just before the final whistle as the Los Angeles Galaxy forged a 3-3 tie with host Los Angeles FC in the El Trafico rivalry.

Yoshida came through in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time on a cross from Mauricio Cuevas just six minutes after LAFC’s Eddie Segura was handed a red card for violent conduct.

Gabriel Pec scored two goals for the Galaxy (3-14-7, 16 points), who are in the midst of the worst season in franchise history but have managed to earn a draw in both games against LAFC. Novak Micovic made one save.

Denis Bouanga scored a pair of goals and Javairo Dilrosun also found the back of the net for LAFC (10-5-6, 36 points), who are unbeaten in their past four games but saw a three-game winning streak come to an end.

Hugo Lloris had three saves for LAFC, who have outscored opponents 9-3 in their past four games.

Bouanga gave LAFC the early 1-0 lead in the 26th minute when he ran onto a pass from Ryan Hollingshead and scored on a one-time blast with his right foot past Micovic.

Five minutes later, LAFC doubled the lead when Dilrosun pounded home a cross from Nathan Ordaz for his second goal of the season and the 2-0 advantage.

Pec cut the Galaxy deficit in half in the 36th minute when he earned a penalty kick after his header went off the hand of Hollingshead in the penalty area.

LAFC went up 3-1 in the 67th minute when Bouanga moved in from midfield on a full sprint and scored with his right foot for his team-leading 13th of the season.

Pec brought the Galaxy back with a goal for a second time when he scored with his left foot after a pass from Marco Reus. It was Pec’s fifth goal to tie him with Reus for the team lead.

The Galaxy’s Christian Ramirez nearly tied it in the 88th minute on a sliding shot from point-blank range, but Lloris made the save. As tempers flared in the closing minutes, Segura was given a red card for grabbing the neck of Ramirez.
