The Tampa Bay Rays reinstated All-Star second baseman Brandon Lowe from the 10-day injured list Friday.

He went on the shelf before the break with left oblique tightness and missed the All-Star Game in Atlanta.

Lowe, 31, enjoyed a strong first half, batting .272 with 19 home runs, 50 RBIs and 54 runs in 84 games.

Lowe is a career .249 hitter with 145 homers and 413 RBIs in 695 games since making his Rays debut in 2018.

Tampa Bay optioned infielder Curtis Mead, 24, to Triple-A Durham in a corresponding transaction.
