Two-time MLS champion Nicolas “Nico” Lodeiro will make his farewell appearance for the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night.

The team confirmed that its home match with St. Louis City SC will be the last one for the 36-year-old midfielder with Houston.

A press release issued by the Dynamo on Saturday afternoon said Lodeiro will be recognized prior to the game and made available to the media afterward.

Multiple reports indicate Lodeiro will join Nacional, the club he supported while growing up in his native Uruguay.

Lodeiro has one goal and one assist in 15 MLS matches (six starts) this season, his 10th in MLS.

Lodeiro signed a one-year deal with the Dynamo in February that included a club option for 2026. He played his first eight seasons with the Seattle Sounders and spent 2024 with Orlando City SC.

He helped Seattle win the MLS Cup in 2016 and 2019 and the CONCACAF Champions League title in 2022. He earned MLS Best XI honors in 2018, 2020 and 2022. He was a finalist for the 2020 MVP award and won the league’s Top Newcomer Award in 2016.

He has 43 goals and 12 assists in 240 career MLS matches, including 201 starts.
