OVERWATCH: Team Liquid forge first-place tie at OWCS NA Stage 2

Team Liquid improved to 2-0 and moved into a tie for first place with a 3-0 sweep of Extinction on Saturday in the Overwatch Champions Series North America Stage 2.

Team Liquid opened with a 2-0 win on Illios, followed that with a 144.86-8.12m victory on Runasapi and closed with a 3-1 triumph on New Junk City.

Sakura Esports also won, posting a 3-0 sweep of DhillDucks. Sakura prevailed 2-0 on Illios, 2-1 on Watchpoint: Gibraltar and 136.18m-54.2m on Runasapi.

The tournament, played online, features eight teams. The regular-season round robin will conclude on June 15, with six qualifying teams heading to the double-elimination regional playoffs.

The top three teams will advance to the Midseason Championship and North America Stage 3. The prize money has yet to be determined.

NA Stage 2 continues Sunday with three matches:
–Supernova vs. NTMR
–Spacestation Gaming vs. DhillDucks
–Geekay Esports vs. Sakura Esports
