MIBR made two roster moves, temporarily benching captain Gustavo “yel” Knittel and rifler Bruno “shz” Martinelli while signing Adriano “WOOD7” Cerato and Matheus “Tuurtle” Anhaia, Globo Esporte reported Wednesday.

The Brazilian news outlet said the team plans to make an official announcement of the transaction soon, with both new players agreeing to a trial period with the Brazilian club.

The news comes on the heels of the squad’s disappointing showing at the IEM Fall South America Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament. A loss to Sharks Esports at that event prevented MIBR from qualifying for the $2 million PGL Stockholm Major, which starts on Oct. 26.

WOOD7, 26, is in his fifth year of professional competition and has mostly played B- and C-tiered events. He has spent nearly the last nine months with Bravos Gaming, another Brazilian team.

Tuurtle, 22, played in a pair of ESL Pro League tournaments in 2019 and has also played most recently with Bravos, which he joined last November. Two months ago, he and WOOD7 were part of the unit that took first place at the CBCS Elite League Season 2, and both have a heavy background in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Once the moves are official, both new acquisitions are expected to compete at the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, with MIBR taking on Complexity in a first-round elimination match on Tuesday.
