Five-star prospect and Southern California recruit Alijah Arenas was hospitalized and placed into a medically induced coma after he was involved in a car accident Thursday morning.

Arenas is in stable condition, according to Los Angeles Police Department.

Per ESPN, initial tests revealed no broken bones for the 18-year-old, who is the son of three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas.

Arenas’ Tesla Cybertruck struck a fire hydrant and tree at 4:56 a.m., LAPD officer Rosario Cervantes said, per the Los Angeles Times. The newspaper reported, citing a source, that drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the accident.

Considered one of the top prospects of the Class of 2025, Arenas reportedly turned down offers from Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky and Louisville before committing to the Trojans.

The younger Arenas is a 6-foot-6 guard that recently competed in the McDonald’s All-American Game and played basketball at Chatsworth High School in Los Angeles.
