Starling Marte hit the walk-off RBI single with two outs in the 10th inning, helping the New York Mets complete a perfect homestand with a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday afternoon.

The Mets’ 7-0 homestand is the second-longest perfect homestand in franchise history behind a 10-0 stretch in April 2015. The team made its most recent World Series appearance in that year.

Johan Rojas and Trea Turner had back-to-back RBI singles in the fourth inning for the Phillies, who have lost four straight games.

Automatic runner Francisco Lindor moved to third on Juan Soto’s groundout against Jordan Romano (0-1) before Pete Alonso laced the game-tying RBI double to right-center field. Brandon Nimmo was intentionally walked and Romano struck out Mark Vientos before Marte blooped a single just beyond the reach of second baseman Bryson Stott.

Alonso slid across home plate ahead of the throw from center fielder Cal Stevenson and slapped his hands on the ground before being lifted up by teammate Jesse Winker.

Max Kranick (2-0) relieved an injured Edwin Diaz one pitch after Nick Castellanos’ tie-breaking one-out single in the top of the 10th. Kranick wriggled out of a bases-loaded jam by inducing Stott and Max Kepler to fly out.

Brett Baty hit a second-deck two-run homer in the second inning for the Mets, who improved to 18-7.

Soto was 1-for-4 and remains without a homer in his first 13 games at Citi Field since signing with the Mets in December. He preserved the 2-2 tie in the eighth inning when he threw out Castellanos trying to score from second on Kepler’s single.

Alec Bohm had three hits for the Phillies while Edmundo Sosa added two singles,

Mets starter David Peterson allowed two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out two over 5 1/3 innings.

The Phillies’ Zack Wheeler gave up two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine over six innings.
