DOTA: Team Liquid to play for title at PGL Wallachia 3

Team Liquid waited for its opponent to be determined – either Team Falcons or Tundra Esports — after advancing on Saturday to the Grand Final of the PGL Wallachia Season 3 in Bucharest, Romania.

The $1 million Dota 2 tournament began last weekend and runs through Sunday. All matches in the double-elimination playoffs are best-of-three except for the Grand Final, which is best-of-five. The championship team will earn $300,000.

Team Liquid advanced to the Grand Final with a 2-0 victory over Team Falcons. Team Liquid won in 37 minutes on red, then in 75:30 on green. Sweden’s Michael “MiCKe” Vu had a 13-1-10 kills-deaths-assist ratio on the first map and an 11-9-12 K-D-A on the final map.

Team Liquid will face the winner of the lower-bracket final earlier Sunday between Team Falcons and Tundra Esports.

Tundra Esports started Saturday in the lower-bracket quarterfinals and emerged with a 2-1 victory over Aurora Gaming. Tundra Esports won the first map on green in 21 minutes, then dropped the next map in 42 minutes on red before coming through in 23 minutes on green.

Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov of Bulgaria had a 13-0-9 K-D-A on the first map, 2-9-10 on the second map and 8-5-11 on the third.

Team Spirit swept Xtreme Gaming 2-0, with wins in 40 minutes and 75 minutes, both on green. Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk of Ukraine had an 8-4-5 K-D-A on the first map, and 16-2-12 on the second map.

Tundra Esports eliminated Team Spirit 2-1 in the lower-bracket semifinal, winning in 43 minutes on green, falling in 33 minutes on red and winning in 29 minutes on red. Bogdanov had a 9-4-14 K-D-A on the first map, 2-4-1 on the second map and 6-1-10 on the third.

The tournament continues Sunday with two matches:

–Grand Final: TBD vs. Team Liquid
