Tom Ford, 60-year-old fashion iconic designer confirmed the 72-year-old fashion editor, Richard Buckley died peacefully of natural causes on Sunday after a long illness he had in Los Angeles . The couple have a son named eight-year-old son Alexander ‘Jack’ John Buckley Ford.
After 27 years of dating the couple eventually married. The two met in an elevator at a fashion show in 1986, and it was love at first site. In a statement issued to Vogue, Ford said: “It is with great sadness that Tom Ford announces the death of his beloved husband of 35 years, Richard Buckley.
Buckley was editor-in-chief of Vogue Hommes International for six years and left the magazine in 2005. For over 25 years, he held numerous high-profile positions in the fashion world, including fashion editor at Women’s Wear Daily, social editor at Vanity Fair and European editor of the former Mirabella magazine. Buckley was also a contributor for Italian Vogue and New York Magazine.
Ford is currently chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
