CSGO: Natus Vincere defeats MOUZ in grand final at IEM Rio

Natus Vincere took down MOUZ 3-1 on Sunday in the best-of-five grand final of the Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024 event in Rio de Janeiro.

Natus Vincere took home $100,000 and earned an automatic berth into IEM Katowice 2025.

NaVi opened with a 13-11 win on Inferno and a 13-2 blowout on Dust II before MOUZ rallied for a 13-6 triumph on Mirage. Averting a decisive fifth map, NaVi sealed the title with a 13-11 victory on Ancient.

For the winners, Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov of Ukraine posted 64 kills and a plus-12 kills-to-deaths differential and teammate Mihai “iM” Ivan of Romania added 59 kills and a plus-10 K-D. All five of Natus Vincere’s players finished with positive K-Ds.

Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo of Finland led MOUZ with 58 kills and a plus-5 differential, one of only two MOUZ players with more kills than deaths.

The $250,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event began with two double-elimination groups of eight teams. The best-of-one opening matches in both groups were played on Monday. All ensuing group matches were best-of-three, and the top three teams from each group advanced to the playoffs.

The playoffs were a single-elimination bracket where all matches were best-of-three until the best-of-five grand final on Sunday.
