Hockey Hall of Famer Mark Messier will contribute to Amazon Prime’s new “Monday Night Hockey” broadcasts in Canada this season.

“Messier joins Prime Monday Night Hockey as an analyst, and the Hall of Famer will share 10 captivating segments featuring stories from his legendary career to air throughout the season,” the NHL said in a press release.

Prime’s lineup also includes seasoned studio host Adnan Virk, known for his work on ESPN and MLB Network, who will co-host with Andi Petrillo.

John Forslund of the Seattle Kraken’s broadcast booth was tapped for play-by-play, with former NHL players Shane Hnidy, Thomas Hickey and Jody Shelley and former NWHL player Blake Bolden serving as analysts.

Jay Marine, the global head of Prime Video Sports, revealed big ambitions at a reveal event Monday in Toronto.

“Our goal is to make it a huge national event every Monday and we are going to invest like crazy to do that,” Marine said. “One of the things we believe in is giving fans closer to the action. We travel all of our talent onsite. For us that matters so much so because the fans can feel the environment, the fans can feel the crowd. Over time, you’ll see us investing in innovation on what we can do to make the fan experience better.”

Amazon’s two-year deal with Canadian communications giant Rogers will stream all Monday NHL games in Canada being streamed on Prime across the country.

Prime will also debut “NHL Coast to Coast” on Thursdays during the season. It will be a whiparound show in the style of “NFL Red Zone” with live look-ins of every game on Thursday nights.
