Wrexham AFC announced that Steve Fletcher has signed a new contract that will keep the former Scotland international with the club for the 2024-25 season.

Fletcher, 37, joined Wrexham as a free agent in September and went on to score eight goals in 34 matches as the club earned promotion to League One. That included a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Barrow and a stoppage-time goal against Crewe Alex.

“I’m delighted to have signed another year, and I’m really looking forward to the season ahead,” Fletcher said.

Fletcher has spent time with several clubs during his career, including score more than 40 goals for both the Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sunderland. He also spent Championship stints with Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City before joining Dundee United.

“We’re pleased Steven has re-signed,” Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said. “He played a key role on and off the pitch last season and we look forward to working with him again in our League One campaign.”
