Hugo Lloris made two saves for his fourth consecutive clean sheet to help lead host Los Angeles FC to a 2-0 victory over Minnesota United on Wednesday night.

It was the sixth clean sheet of the season for Lloris, who also extended his MLS shutout streak to 391 minutes, breaking the team record of 388 minutes set by Tyler Miller in 2019.

Denis Bouanga and Mateusz Bogusz each scored goals for LAFC (8-4-3, 27 points), who improved to 7-0-2 at home while moving into third place in the Western Conference, three points behind first-place Real Salt Lake.

Dayne St. Clair finished with four saves for Minnesota United (7-3-4, 25 points), which had a six-game unbeaten streak (4-0-2) snapped.

Minnesota had two good chances in the first 20 minutes to take the lead but came away empty-handed. The first came in the 10th minute when Teemu Pukki dribbled around a defender and blasted a right-footed shot from the left edge of the 6-yard box that caromed off the shoulder of defender Aaron Long and over the crossbar. Nine minutes later, Robin Lod tried a left-footed shot from the top right edge of the box that Lloris deflected wide of the far post.

LAFC then took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute when Bouanga was tripped by Loons defender DJ Taylor while dribbling by the left side of the 6-yard box. Bouanga, the reigning MLS Golden Boot winner, then converted the ensuing penalty kick with a right-footed shot into the right corner of the net for his ninth goal of the season.

St. Clair kept it a one-score game in the second half with a couple of big saves, the second on a point-blank left-footed try by Bouanga in the middle of the 6-yard box in the 73rd minute.

Bogusz then sealed the win in the 82nd minute with his sixth goal, drilling a right-footed shot from about 10 yards above the top of the box that went in just under the crossbar.
